Overview

Remove the front-end WordPress toolbar for the user roles you choose, without changing the dashboard.

Choose the roles from a simple checkbox list, save the settings, and the admin bar will no longer appear for those users on the front end. The WordPress dashboard itself is not changed.

The default selection includes Subscriber, Contributor, and Customer. You can update the selection at any time.

Before you start

  • WordPress 6.4 or newer
  • PHP 8.2 or newer

Installation

  1. Upload the dprime-hide-admin-bar folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  2. Activate Dprime Hide Admin Bar.
  3. Open Hide Admin Bar in the sidebar, choose the roles, and save.

Using the plugin

  • Choose roles from a simple checkbox list.
  • Keeps the normal toolbar inside wp-admin.
  • Works on its own and nests under Dprime Core when available.

Styling and CSS classes

These public-facing class hooks are present in the plugin styles. Add custom CSS only after checking the result on a staging site.

Data and cleanup

  • 1 WordPress setting

Retention: kept until the plugin is uninstalled. Uninstall policy: delete the plugin-owned data declared above.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm the required WordPress, PHP, and companion-plugin versions above.
  2. Save the plugin settings again, then repeat the exact action that failed.
  3. Clear page, object, and browser caches when the issue affects front-end output.
  4. Temporarily test with unrelated plugins disabled on a staging site to identify a conflict.
  5. If the problem remains, record the steps, visible error, and relevant logs before contacting support.
